Job Description
Highgate Hotels is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering department at Graduate Roosevelt Island. As the Engineering Manager, you will manage the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the hotel's engineering division in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for property, equipment, and grounds.
- Supervise and train Engineering staff in various areas.
- Create schedules for Engineering staff and participate in safety meetings.
- Manage department budget, financial forecasts, and profit/loss reviews.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Handle guest maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
- Participate in energy conservation programs and oversee emergency and life safety systems.
- Collaborate on special projects, renovations, and vendor contracts.
- Support Highgate Hotel policies and safety programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a hotel or related field.
- FLSD certification preferred; Stationary engineer's license may be required.
- Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work long hours when necessary.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
