Job Description
The Overnight Engineer at The Gabriel South Beach is responsible for maintaining the property in optimal condition with minimal disruption to guests and employees. This role requires expertise in HVAC systems, electrical work, plumbing, and other maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain hotel air conditioning systems, including changing filters and cleaning coils.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment such as boilers, chillers, and electrical systems.
- Read equipment readings, test cooling towers, and replace/program televisions.
- Handle furniture repairs, plumbing work, electrical repairs, and painting tasks.
- Understand and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Perform various repairs on kitchen equipment, electronic lock systems, pools, and spas.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent with experience in a hotel or related field.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel environment preferred.
- Trade school or college coursework in a relevant field is beneficial.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work flexible hours as needed.
- Effective communication skills and a service-oriented attitude.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and show initiative.
