Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Air Dominance Division is seeking a Proprietary Phantom Works Structural Design Engineer (P5) for advanced aircraft development programs located in Hazelwood, MO.

BDS Proprietary programs develop complex, highly integrated, advanced systems, enabling future growth for Boeing and the Department of Defense (DoD) Customers. Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, integrates, and documents structural and interior payload system requirements for system design establishment.
  • Designs, maintains, and modifies structural and interior payload systems and components using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools, providing product definitions for various stakeholders.
  • Conducts tests to validate and verify systems and components compliance with specifications.
  • Manages supplier development, test, and production activities to optimize design and achieve program goals.
  • Supports the investigation of emerging technologies for future product design concepts.
  • Works under consultative direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • The ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Astronautical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • The ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • 14+ years of experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, Catia, CADD).
  • 10+ years of experience in structural design for military aerospace products.
  • 5+ years of experience leading projects or teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months.
  • 3+ years of experience with Full Size Determinant Assembly.
  • 5+ years of experience programming with FiberSim and/or Composite Workbench (flat patterns).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education in engineering with generally 14+ years of related work experience.

Salary Range: $134,300 - $181,700 per year.
