Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Air Dominance Division is seeking Proprietary Phantom Works Structural Design Engineers (P5) for advanced aircraft development programs located in Hazelwood, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops, integrates, and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
  • Develops, maintains, and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Manages supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
  • Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Works under consultative direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Astronautical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • The ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • 14+ years of experience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, Catia, CADD).
  • 10+ years of experience doing structural design on military aerospace products.
  • 5+ years of experience leading projects or teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • An active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months.
  • 3+ years of experience with Full Size Determinant Assembly.
  • 5+ years of experience programming with FiberSim and/or Composite Workbench (flat patterns).

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range (Senior, Level 5): $134,300 - $181,700
