Senior AWS Security Engineer

Job Description

DISH, an EchoStar Company, is seeking a Senior AWS Security Engineer to build out its security capabilities for supporting applications in the AWS cloud. This role involves architecting, designing, deploying, and testing various infrastructure, application, and data security controls on the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and development of a multi-account, multi-region, highly available, and highly automated AWS environment to support full software development life cycle and production of mission-critical applications
• Create system support documents, operational procedures, and build scripts/Cloud Formation templates
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, system optimization, troubleshoot outages, and execute continual service improvements
• Mitigate business service disruptions, maintain a highly available production infrastructure, and provide application support for product customers
• Provide systems administration functions on AWS infrastructure including support of EC2 Compute, S3 Storage, RDS, AWS Networking & Content delivery, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Auto Scaling, Cost and Usage Reports, and AWS Security
• Maintain and enhance security for cloud-based systems/applications in AWS, write SOPs, system requirements, and other technical documents, and centrally monitor systems for alerts and incident management functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 8-12 years of experience in IT with 5+ years in Information Security and 3+ years working with AWS Security
• Knowledge of security technologies such as SIEM, Firewall/NGFW, EDR/DLP, UEBA, and hybrid/Cloud Security environments
• Experience with AWS APIs/command line tools, system support documents, operational procedures, and build scripts/Cloud Formation templates
• Working knowledge and experience with project and portfolio management tools
• Excellent communication skills and scripting language experience
• CISSP, SANS GCIH, or AWS Certification(s) are a plus
