Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist

Job Description

As a Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist at S&C Electric Company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Working closely with various departments, you will provide technical guidance, support, and training to enhance safety practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct health, safety & environmental training for team members.
• Review and enhance existing programs and procedures for efficiency and compliance.
• Manage documentation to ensure adherence to regulations.
• Interface with different departments to meet safety objectives.
• Perform facility audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance on safety programs and procedures.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and analysis.
• Review contractor safety plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering/Science, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Experience in incident investigation and risk assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Health and safety certifications (OHST, ASP, CSP).
• Proficiency in health, safety & environmental data management software.

Physical Demands

• Travel may be required to various company locations.
• Physical activities such as standing, walking, and occasional exposure to varying temperatures.
• Ability to work on-call and after hours.
