Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist

Job Description

S&C Electric Company is seeking a highly qualified Senior Safety & Environmental Specialist to join our Global Health, Safety & Environmental (GHSE) team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating health, safety & environmental training, maintaining compliance documents, tracking regulations, and providing safety oversight.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health, safety & environmental training for team members.
• Maintain compliance documents and records.
• Track and evaluate regulations affecting company operations.
• Interface with various departments to meet safety objectives.
• Establish and coordinate facility audits to ensure compliance.
• Provide safety guidance for existing operations and programs.
• Prepare, calibrate, and analyze environmental samples.
• Review contractor's health and safety plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Proficiency in incident investigation and risk assessment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to S&C locations.
• Experience with health, safety & environmental data management software.
• Certifications such as OHST, ASP, or CSP are a plus.

Physical Demands

• Periodic travel to S&C locations for inspections and seminars.
• Physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, and computer use.
• Ability to work on call and after hours when needed.
