Construction Cost Project Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Cost Project Analyst to join our National Real Estate Services team at Aldi. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing construction costs on a national level by collaborating with divisional real estate teams to assess construction bids. The ideal candidate should have a solid grasp of construction documents and a background in construction, architecture, or engineering. Your main goal will be to ensure that construction costs align with project scopes and regional cost trends.

Responsibilities

• Work with Construction Managers to develop negotiation points with contractors.
• Collaborate with divisional Directors and Construction Managers to determine appropriate scopes needing clarification or revised pricing.
• Provide divisions with up-to-date pricing data for more consistent pricing structures.
• Prepare detailed bid analyses for divisional real estate teams to award projects to the most qualified bidder at a competitive price.
• Generate quarterly reports for the National Real Estate Project Manager to track pricing data.
• Identify anomalies in proposals from general contractors.
• Monitor Request for Information (RFI) logs for project understanding.
• Conduct material takeoffs to validate design and proposed quantities.
• Evaluate bids, create analytical reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Research alternative materials and methods for more economical construction practices.
• Assist in training team members and maintain a motivated workforce.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to leadership.
• Ensure security and confidentiality of documents and data.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Construction Estimating.
• Combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

Physical Requirements

• Office or remote work with computer and office equipment.
• Regularly sit, reach, grasp, stand, and move within the office.
• Use keyboard/mouse frequently.
• Occasionally push, pull, bend, lift up to 25 lbs.

Travel

• Domestic travel up to 10%.
