We are hiring a full-time Medical Lab Assistant to join our team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team by ensuring specimens are collected and processed accurately, following proper protocols and procedures. Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Obtain specimens according to laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate pertinent patient information effectively.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Follow protocols for specimen handling and processing.
• Assist in patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen processing, and distribution.
• Practice proper infection control and patient identification procedures.
• Perform drug screen collection and processing when required.
• Engage in self-evaluation to improve skills and knowledge.
• Promote service excellence and contribute to the growth of the laboratory.
• Work collaboratively with various departments in the hospital/health system.
• Conduct laboratory tests and prepare equipment for testing.
• Support other laboratory personnel and perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a phlebotomist upon hire.
• Certification as a medical lab assistant within 2 years of hire date.
• Experience in a clinical setting is advantageous.
