Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Ensure specimens are collected following laboratory guidelines.
• Effectively communicate relevant patient or sample information to care providers.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Follow procedural directions and prioritize workload efficiently.
• Package and transport specimens according to protocols.
• Perform specimen accessioning and drug screen collection.
• Demonstrate infection control practices and patient-centered care.
• Respond to emergent conditions appropriately.
• Engage in self-evaluation and continuous improvement of skills.
• Accountability for quality patient care and service excellence.
• Collaborate with various departments within the healthcare system.
• Perform arterial punctures as required.
• Adhere to infection control practices and patient identification protocols.
• Complete other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred:

• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program or prior phlebotomy experience.
• Experience in a clinical setting.
