Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. As a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients throughout their perioperative journey. From pre-procedure preparation to post-procedure evaluation and education, you will ensure a seamless and comprehensive healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical/invasive procedures.
• Provide physician assistance and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Conduct critical evaluations, manage pain effectively, and offer patient/family education.
• Become proficient in two of the three areas of Perioperative Services: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Completion of CVPH critical care course within six months or challenge exam pass.
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience, with Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS required, PALS within 12 months.
• Strong customer service, communication, and IV therapy skills.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
• Previous experience in Perioperative Services considered advantageous.
