Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Regional Manager for Safety and Security at ABF Freight, an ArcBest company. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding company assets and interests and ensuring safe and healthy working conditions. As a Regional Manager, you will be responsible for preventing vehicular accidents, personnel injuries, theft, and hazardous material incidents. Additionally, you will investigate incidents, identify causal factors, establish preventive measures, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

General Description of Duties

  • Conduct safety and security inspections of facilities and properties.
  • Handle vehicular accidents and investigations.
  • Provide training sessions on loss prevention.
  • Analyze data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish relationships with regulatory agencies and management.
  • Investigate hazardous material spills and violations.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and training for new hires.
  • Oversee performance and resource allocation.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a challenging environment.
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve department goals.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Work hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional irregular hours based on workload.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years in transportation, safety, DOT compliance, or law enforcement.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Other Requirements: Strong understanding of industrial and traffic safety, hazardous material regulations, DOT, OSHA, and EPA guidelines. Knowledge of investigative techniques, surveillance, the judicial system, and commercial vehicle enforcement. Ability to work on-call and in hazardous situations.
